Marcy, Calliope co-founder is a composer, musician and visual artist. She is a percussionist with the New Horizons wind band sponsored by Johnson County, Kansas and the UMKC Conservatory of Music.
Her compositions include New Horizons Dance Suite for 60 piece wind ensemble, and the score for "After Persephone, a Musical" premiered at the 2018 Fringe Festival.
Composition education includes studies with Jeffrey Ruckman. Marcy also attended the UMKC Conservatory of Music workshop 2016 She formerly studied woodwinds at the Charlie Parker Memorial Foundation, with Ahmed Alladeen.
Her additions compositions have been performed by Po Sim Fanny Head of the UMKC Conservatory of Music. Marcy performed her compositions as the City in Motion Dance Theater 2016 fundraising gala.
She is a past board president and dance school director, and current volunteer for City in Motion Modern Dance Theater Inc. K.C,MO. 2012 – present. Marcy co-authored, Art in Transportation, Transportation Research Board, January 2010 and served as assistant editor, The Sixth Surface, Steven Holl Lights the Nelson-Atkins Museum 2007. Marcy is a Member of the Women in Music Association. She is also a former urban planning and design professional.
